An innovative approach

At Boreal, we are not just supporting European Citizens’ Initiatives (ECIs)—we are reinventing how they work through participation itself. Instead of treating the process as fixed, we believe it should evolve with the input of the people who use it.

That’s why we have designed a participatory process based in online and offline events to enhance the way ECIs are launched, promoted, and supported across Europe:

Debate

We aim to bring together citizens and civil society organizations in deliberative sessions to collaboratively rethink and improve the design, structure, and impact of ECIs. By fostering open dialogue and exchanging ideas, we seek to co-create a more effective and accessible participation process

Engaging

We strive to build strong alliances with civil society, ensuring that ECIs gain visibility and public support. By mobilizing key organizations and networks, we aim to amplify participation and turn ECIs into widely recognized movements for change.

Acting smarter

We envision a process where barriers to participation are reduced, making signature collection easier and more inclusive. By exploring digital solutions and optimizing traditional methods, we aspire to create a system where more people can engage in ECIs seamlessly.

Innovating

We seek to expand the impact of ECIs by leveraging successful experiences, particularly from Spain, and adapting them across Europe. Through digital innovation and strategic partnerships, we aim to build a stronger, more effective ecosystem for citizen-driven legislative proposals.

Autenticidad

Creemos que el auténtico cambio profundo surge cuando las personas pueden expresarse de manera abierta y genuina, sin ocultarse tras máscaras. Por eso, rechazamos el anonimato que domina los entornos digitales, donde las palabras pierden su peso y el respeto se diluye.

Pluralidad

Estamos firmemente convencidos que la diversidad transforma la escucha pasiva en participación activa. Cada perspectiva aporta valor, sin importar el origen o la ideología política. La ética política del siglo XXI debería democratizar la participación ciudadana en todos los niveles y colectivos sociales.

Apertura

Boreal es un espacio nuevo de reflexión donde el respeto y la construcción colectiva prevalecen sobre el ruido del odio y la falta de rigor de otras redes sociales. Buscamos revertir las dinámicas tóxicas de la era digital anterior y dar paso a una nueva era 2.0, tras 15 años de continua polarización.

Transparencia

Como organización sin ánimo de lucro, tenemos el privilegio de poder ser totalmente transparentes en todos los aspectos: nuestra actividad económica y resultados contables, el proyecto será open source, el uso de tus datos personales y un diseño honesto.
